I spent a month in Thailand (the limit allowed by a tourist visa), but I would've stayed longer!
It’s truly a backpacker’s paradise. As a matter of fact, because there are so many activities to do, many decide to extend their visa.
In the North, be ready to be awestruck by the (many) temples, mountains, waterfalls and forests.
On the islands, further south, snorkel in the magnificent turquoise waters or relax on the many sublime beaches.
And no matter where you are in Thailand, you'll definitely find a way to party with other backpackers (if you turn out to be there when a Full Moon Party happens on Koh Phangan, I highly recommend adding this stop to your itinerary).
Also, don't forget Thai food… everything I ate was so delicious, whether prepared in a restaurant or by a friendly Thai in a Night Market.
Oh, and the 7eleven toasties. So satisfying after an evening/night out dancing!
